Tax sales
Texas does not sell tax liens, so Brazos County sells the property itself after a tax lawsuit and judgment. Texas tax sales are held on the first Tuesday of a month, and Brazos County holds them in Bryan on dates set by the county; check with the Brazos County Tax Office for the next sale and its property list.
Foreclosure sales
Mortgage foreclosures in Brazos County are trustee sales held on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brazos County Courthouse area in Bryan designated by the Commissioners Court, at the time stated in each notice. Notices must be filed with the County Clerk and posted at least 21 days before the sale.
Assessed values
The Brazos Central Appraisal District sets property values every year as of January 1.
Transfer tax
Texas has no real estate transfer tax, so there is no state, county or city tax on deeds in College Station or Bryan; buyers pay only County Clerk recording fees.
