Tax sales
Texas does not sell tax liens; McLennan County sells the property itself after a delinquent tax lawsuit and judgment. All McLennan County tax sales are conducted online through GovEase, where bidders must register before the auction. Property taxes become delinquent if unpaid by January 31 of the year after they are billed.
Foreclosure sales
Mortgage foreclosures in McLennan County are trustee sales held on the first Tuesday of each month, usually starting at 10:00 AM, at the top of the outside steps to the 2nd floor in front of the McLennan County Courthouse, 501 Washington Ave., Waco. Notices must be posted 21 days before the sale and can be viewed on the county website, on Clerk's office terminals and on a bulletin board outside the Courthouse.
Assessed values
The McLennan County Appraisal District sets values each year, and taxes billed on those values are due by January 31 of the next year.
