How property is sold here

Webb County follows Texas's rules, with its own calendar and offices. Read the Texas guide for how the state works.

Tax sales

Texas does not sell tax liens; Webb County sells the property itself at a Sheriff's tax foreclosure sale after a delinquent tax lawsuit and court judgment in favor of Webb County and other taxing units. The sales are held in person on the first Tuesday of most months at 10:00 AM outside the northwest (parking garage) first-floor entrance of the Webb County Justice Center, 1110 Victoria Street in Laredo; the October 6, 2026 sale is one example. The Tax Assessor-Collector posts each month's sale notice as a PDF on the county's Sheriff Sales page.

Foreclosure sales

Mortgage foreclosures in Webb County are trustee sales held on the first Tuesday of each month outside the northwest first-floor entrance of the Webb County Justice Center at 1110 Victoria Street, unless the Commissioners Court names another spot. The County Clerk posts the month's trustee sale notices as PDFs on its Foreclosures page but does not run the sales or answer questions about them.

Assessed values

The Webb County Appraisal District sets property values every year as of January 1, as Texas law requires.

Transfer tax

Texas has no real estate transfer tax, so there is no state, county or city tax on deeds in Laredo; buyers pay only County Clerk recording fees.
