Arapahoe County follows Colorado's rules, with its own calendar and offices. Read the Colorado guide for how the state works.
Tax sales
Colorado sells tax liens, not the property. The Arapahoe County Treasurer holds its tax lien sale online once a year, and the sale for 2025 taxes is set for November 5, 2026. Sale files are posted in early to mid-October, deposits and bidding open about a month before the sale, and unsold county-held certificates can be bought later from the Treasurer.
Foreclosure sales
Colorado foreclosures of deeds of trust are public trustee sales. The Arapahoe County Public Trustee holds them in person at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays, except holiday weeks, in the East Hearing Room of the County Administration Building, 5334 South Prince St., Littleton, and posts the pre-sale list online two business days before each sale.
Assessed values
The Arapahoe County Assessor reappraises property every two years, with the latest general reassessment in 2025 updating values from 2023.
Transfer tax
Colorado has no real estate transfer tax beyond a state documentary fee of $0.10 per $1,000 of the price, collected by the Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder when the deed is recorded.
